Running a forecast
Processing stages, cancel, retry, and what happens if you leave the page.
Processing generates the forecast from the saved parameters. The timeline shows actual engine events, not estimated percentages. The page refreshes as events arrive.
Run timeline
| Stage | What is happening |
|---|---|
| Queued | The run is waiting for an available worker |
| Accepted | The engine accepted and reserved the run |
| Starting | The engine started preparing the forecast |
| Reading data | Data and configuration are being read and validated |
| Generating forecasts | Candidate models are producing forecasts |
| Reconciling | Forecasts are reconciled across the configured hierarchy |
| Selecting models | The best model per DFU is chosen with the configured metric |
| Publishing | Results are persisted |
| Completed | Results are available |
Warnings from the run, if any, appear on this page. A failed run stops before results are published.
Cancel, retry, and adjust
- Cancel run stops the forecast. Partial results are discarded. You can then change parameters and run again.
- Retry starts a new run with the current parameters after a failure or cancellation.
- Adjust parameters returns to the Parameters step without waiting for a finished run.
You cannot delete a scenario while a run is processing. Cancel first, or wait until it completes.
Leaving the page
Back to the list returns to Home. The run continues in the background. Use Track run on Home to come back.
When the run completes, the page can redirect you to Results. You can stay on Processing or open Results immediately.
Each successful run becomes a version you can select later on the Results page.
